To provide a comprehensive revitalization plan for the areas surrounding the old train station to the Pacific in the capital city of Costa Rica, San Jose. This plan shall address two key objectives: to support the establishment of an international convention centre at this site and to contribute to the revitalization of the area as an important centre of activity in a socially responsible manner. These two objectives contribute to the municipality of San Jose’s overall initiative for city-wide improvement.

Between Sept 14 and 24 our team met with municipal officials, project stakeholders and the communitty at large in San Jose city. After considering all the development phases that a project of this nature would involve, a consensus was achived with regards to the specific tasks that our study will involve. As stated in the summary provided to the municipality, P2P will produce a Planning Preliminary Proposal which includes contextual analysis, benchmarking & policy review and preliminary design.
